Edward Serfence (エドワルド・セルフェンス Edowarudo Serufensu) is professor of Dark Magic and History and Origins of Magic at Regarden Magical Academy.
Appearance[]
Edward has long dark colored hair. He wears a dark colored long sleeved shirt that's partially unbuttoned, dark pants, and a short robe.
Personality[]
As a mage, Edward looks down on those who can't use magic, and as such criticizes Will and the dwarves for that reason, stating that the sword is inferior to magic. He is shocked when he sees Will defeat an Evil Sentinel without the use of magic, causing him to petition Caldron to have him expelled. He later accepts his defeat and allows Will to stay enrolled after the latter clears Edward's test by landing a hit on him. As a teacher he is shown to care about his students, telling his pupils to control themselves during the all-student Praxis instead of letting their dreams fog the reality of the event, and quickly takes action to help the students when the monsters stampede the safety encampments within the dungeon.
Later in the series, it was revealed that Edward wants Will to give up becoming a Magia Vander to avoid enduring the same fate as himself.
Abilities[]
Edward is an incredibly skilled and powerful mage, having once been considered to become one of the Magia Vander but lost. He is able to use magic without a chant, casting them at high speed.

黒渦の火番 ): Dax Darbicans is a low level dark magic, however it has tremendous power when Edward uses it. He is able to use this magic as part of a series to fire at least 17 at once. - Darge (
黒檻 ): Dirge creates a dark magic barrier around Edward. - Saeva Fulminas
- Zogglus Hilde: Summons giant scythes that land on his opponents slicing them apart
